Eliza, Hamiltonâs wife, is another strong character; over the course of the book, Casey deftly examines the frustrating reality of being the spouse of a politician. It would have been a fun read if it did not say it was based on Eliza Hamilton. The letter here was written in 1833, when Eliza was seventy-six.
